DescriptionA large stone house is situated behind a rail fence. The house has porches, bay windows, and scroll-cut vergeboards. Some windows have louvered shutters. Two women, a small boy, and a small girl are on the porch at the left. A shed is at the far left. Other outbuildings or houses are at the right. Trees, including what appears be an elm tree, are in the background.
NotesDate Note: The two children in the photograph are almost certainly Edwin Augustus Moore (b. 1859) and Ellen Mindwell Moore (b. 1861). Based on the children's ages, the photograph was probably taken in 1864 or 1865. (Finlay 9/22/2006)

Subject Note: The Stonehouse, the Moore family home in Kensington, Connecticut, was built in 1861, using cement from the family cement mill. (Finlay 9/22/2006)
