DescriptionTwo warships are engaged in combat in the middle of a choppy sea. The Guerriere, on the left, has lost all three masts. Two men are trying to retrieve a British flag which has fallen into the water. The Constitution, on the right, has holes in the sails and broken spars. An American flag flies from the stern. Men on the Constitution cheer and wave. Other men fight with swords and muskets.
