DescriptionBlack velvet men's slippers, embroidered on the vamp with a coat of arms in variegated yellow/brown thread. The design of a shield, within four corners defined by fleurs de lis, is surmounted by a griffin head with a long, curling tongue (or smoke emanating from the mouth). The upper is cut all in one, and is seamed at the center back. The vamp has a wide, tongue-like extension so that the whole top of the foot is covered. The stacked heel is 5/8 inch high. The back of the heel is inset with a ridged black rubber or nylon reinforcement. The back of the shoe is lined with gray suede. The rest of the shoe is lined with a black ribbed synthetic fabric. The upper edges are bound with black leather. The sock lining is black leather (or faux leather).
