DescriptionRed rubber child's boots, with a keyhole-type buttoned strap for adjusting the fit at the top of each boot. The toes and heel areas of the boots are molded with a grainy texture, while the rest of the boot top is smooth. The bottom edge around the outside of the foot is molded with "BOOTS . BOOTS . BOOTS ." continuously. The bottom of the right boot is molded with "RIGHT <> RIGHT <>" alternating with four chevron stripes. The bottom of the left boot is molded similarly with "LEFT <> LEFT <>".
NotesHistorical Note: These boots were were purchased at Bradley's in 1992 and worn by the donor, Robert Egleston. He is the son of Elizabeth P. Fox, former curator of the Connecticut Historical Society, and Robert Egleston, former director of the New Haven Colony Historical Society.
