DescriptionSilver spinularium, or a holder for a ball pin cushion, consisting of a cylindrical band of silver with a serrated edge of projecting points with cut decoration. Engraved on the outside of the spinularium is, "Rachel Lord - Her Spinularium - October 20th 1765." There is a punched flower between each word of the engraving. The spinularium is constructed of a band of beaten silver that is soldered together at one side. At the same side, a hoop is attached to the band of silver and joined to an s-hook, then a 12 1/2 inch long silver link chain. The chain terminates in a loop, for attaching the spinularium to a dress. The spinularium is accompanied by a red velvet ball pin cushion (replacement).
